One person died in a four-car accident Saturday afternoon that shut down all lanes of the Downtown Connector northbound, just south of the 17th Street bridge.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said three occupants were ejected from one of the vehicles. No other details on the accident were available.

Northbound traffic was backed up for miles as police and fire officials investigated the accident. A white SUV was flipped on its side and what appeared to be a body could be seen under an orange tarp lying near the SUV.
