A man who threatened his family was believed to be in standoff with Roswell police Thursday afternoon. But hours later, police determined there was no one inside the house.

Police were called to Jorge Serrano’s Oxbo Road home Wednesday after he allegedly made the threats, Lt. James McGee said. But Serrano was gone when police arrived.

“This morning, we obtained warrants for his arrest,” McGee said.

A SWAT team secured the home and relatives were moved to a safe location.

Investigators believed Serrano was alone inside his home and were attempting to make contact with him late Thursday afternoon. Shortly after 4 p.m., police determined no one was in the home, McGee said.

Oxbo Road was temporarily closed due to the police activity.

The search continued for Serrano.
