A portion of Old Milton Parkway near Ga. 400 was temporarily closed Monday afternoon after a wreck involving multiple cars, according to Alpharetta police.

Injuries were reported in the crash, which had eastbound and westbound lanes of Old Milton Parkway closed, police spokesman George Gordon said. Traffic was temporarily diverted onto Ga. 400, Gordon said.

Motorists were being advised to avoid the area. The road reopened shortly before 5 p.m.

No further details about the crash were immediately available.
