A Clayton County police officer was arrested in Henry County, but authorities are not yet providing details.
Clayton police said off-duty officer Thomas Sheats was operating his own vehicle at the time of the incident but information regarding his alleged criminal actions was not immediately available. He is being investigated by internal affairs and is on administrative leave without pay.
“The Department is always concerned when an officer is accused of actions not fitting the core values of the Clayton County Police Department,” police said in a press release.
