PATRICK, Ralph Kenneth

Ralph Kenneth Patrick, age 85, passed away on June 11, 2024. Son of the late Maurice and Wietske Patrick, Ralph was born on April 3, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

After graduating from Little Rock Central High School, Ralph earned a Bachelor's Degree in English at Arkansas State Teachers College and a Master's Degree in English Literature from the University of Oregon.

Ralph's career in journalism began at the Arkansas Democrat in Little Rock, Arkansas where he worked for many years and eventually became city editor. Throughout his career, Ralph held editorial positions at various publications, and his career was his passion. Ralph strived for perfection in his work and expected the same of his fellow journalists.

In 1982, Ralph and his family moved to Marietta, Georgia, where he joined the staff of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. After two decades, Ralph retired from the paper to pursue his other passions full time – reading, traveling, listening to jazz, doing crossword puzzles, and watching the Atlanta Braves.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church in Marietta, Georgia, followed by internment of ashes in the memorial garden.
