NEWMAN (LOUGHLIN), Ann "Nancy"
Ann "Nancy" Loughlin Newman passed away peacefully on September 8, 2021, at the age of ninety-two. Born on July 24, 1929, in Queens Village, New York, she attended high school at Our Lady of Wisdom Academy and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's University. After graduation, she worked as a research bacteriologist for Pfizer pharmaceutical company. In 1951 she married William "Bill" J. Newman, Jr., and together they had nine children, twenty-five grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. In 1991 she retired after working for fifteen years as a lab technician for Dekalb County Water and Sewer Department. Nancy and her husband Bill actively served in multiple ministries at their home parish of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia. Nancy was a kind and thoughtful person of quiet strength, with an inquisitive mind and a quick wit. She appreciated nature's beauty, celebrated life's simple joys, and always reached out to those in sorrow or in need. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. A funeral mass will be celebrated in her honor on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:00 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia. A visitation will be held at Northside Chapel funeral home in Roswell from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Food for the Poor or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
