LAWRENCE, Jr., Thomas Edwin
Entered the gates of heaven on October 26, 2021 at the age of 80. Born in Glenn Ridge, NJ, he graduated from the University of NC in Chapel Hill, he served in the US Navy (Lieutenant), obtained his JD from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and served in the GA House of Representatives 1983-1996. He was a 33rd degree Mason active in Scottish and York Rites.
Preceded in death by wife Gail (52 years), they made their home in Stone Mountain, Georgia and moved to Signal Mountain in 2014.
Tom is survived by daughter Christine (Stuart) Vaughn, sons, Thomas E. Lawrence, III and Patrick Lawrence (Heather); his grandchildren Preston and Payton Vaughn and Eleanor Lawrence, in-laws Clyde and Judy Goad, Mary Wright and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 31, 3 PM. at Signal Crest United Methodist Church in Signal Mountain, TN. with visitation from 2 -3 PM at the church. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Signal Crest United Methodist Church.
