Authorities are searching for at least two suspects who opened fire on a group of people in a Newton County neighborhood earlier this week before speeding away in an SUV.

Nobody was struck in the drive-by shooting, which occurred Tuesday evening along Glen Echo Drive in Covington, investigators said.

According to the sheriff’s office, shots were fired at a group of people sitting in a car parked in front of a home about 11:30 p.m. It’s unclear if they knew the shooters. Surveillance cameras at a neighbor’s home captured video of the suspects’ SUV, which appears to be a tan Chevy Suburban or GMC Yukon.
