Human remains were found inside two bags on a sidewalk near a New York City park, The New York Post reported Friday.

Two parks department employees found two plastic bags containing the body parts in the Bronx around 2 p.m., WABC reported. Police believed the remains appeared to be of a woman, the Post reported.

The parks employees said they originally thought the bags contained a dead dog, but upon opening them discovered human hair, the newspaper reported.

The remains were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The victim has not been identified.
