A 12-year-old male student at a Washington state middle school has been arrested for assaulting a 13-year-old female classmate in a bathroom at the school.

Police say the assault happend at Pioneer Middle School in Dupont.

Police say the boy had just returned from a suspension after being found in the girls bathroom.

According to juvenile court documents, he approached the girl while she was seated in a hallway.

He told the girl that a teacher wanted to see her and lead her to the bathroom.

Once there, he told her that she needed to use it.

She entered the bathroom and went into a stall.

She told police that when she exited the stall, he was standing in bathroom.

Prosecutors say the boy then locked himself in the stall with the classmate, grabbing her sweater and telling her to get on the ground.

After attempting to remove her sweater, he grabbed her hair and forced her face into the wall of the bathroom stall.

When her nose started to bleed, he told her not to scream and tried to duct tape her mouth shut.  The girl pulled the tape off and screamed.

Two teachers heard her screams and raced into the bathroom.

The boy may face additional charges after the investigation is completed.
