A 5-year-old is being called a hero after saving his 2-year-old brother from a fiery crash that killed their father Friday.

The family was moving to Galveston when the father, who was driving an 18-wheel truck lost control, hit a guardrail and crashed into a pillar, ejecting and killing the father, according to KPRC-TV.

The children were taken to the hospital. The 2-year-old suffered severe burns and the 5-year-old suffered minor injuries, police said.

The 5-year-old was also thrown from the big rig and went back into the wreckage for his brother.

"He's a trouper. He was ejected. He was sitting down, talking to us," Houston police Sgt. James Roque told KPRC-TV. "He was giving us everyone's name and he was asking about his father. He helped us out a lot to piece together a lot of things we would not have known."
