An 8-year-old boy inspired by his mother's work ethic started his own business baking treats, hoping to earn enough money to help her buy a new home.

"I wanted to save up a lot of  money to get a house," Jalen Bailey told KFSN. "I just want one that me and my mom can be happy in."

Mom SharhondaBailey is raising Jalen on her own. She told KFSN she has had a side business since she was 18 years old. She supported Jalen's business idea and even works as his assistant sometimes. But, she added, knowing he wants a new home breaks her heart.

"It was a little overwhelming because it was something that I couldn't do for him," Sharhonda Bailey told KFSN.

Jalen bakes cookies and banana bread. He even attended his first networking event for entrepreneurs.

Inspired by what he saw, he now has big dream.

"I said I wanted to be a millionaire," Jalen told KFSN. "I thought that wasn't possible but now I think it is."
