9-year-old girl kidnapped by uncle found safe

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday that Carlie Trent has been found safe.
Trent, 9, was reported missing a week ago when her uncle by marriage, Gary Simpson, picked her up from school last Wednesday without permission.

Sources report she was found off of a highway in Eidson, Tennessee. Simpson has been taken into custody. 

An Amber Alert had been issued for Trent, leading to a nationwide search for the girl, who authorities believed could be in danger.
