The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in Florida said a 7-year-old girl was shot and later died Saturday following a firefight in a Jacksonville Heights shopping center.
According to police, this took place on the 7900 block of 103rd Street in Jacksonville.
Family members identified the child as Hydee Rivas. She was taken to University of Florida Health and was then transferred to Wolfson Children's Hospital, where she died.
According to JSO, two men exchanged gunfire with an unknown number of occupants in a dark vehicle following a verbal altercation.
The child was in a car with her sibling and father when she was hit by a stray bullet, police said.
JSO said Rivas was "an innocent victim" waiting for mother to get off of work.
Police have since released a photo of two "persons of interest."
JSO describes the suspects as a black man wearing a white top and jeans that appeared to be acid washed, and a black man wearing maroon.
The two are believed to be in an early to mid 2000’s green Nissan Altima, according to police.
