An Iowa family just got the most incredible gift from the wife and mother they lost two years ago. KCCI calls it a "Christmas wish like no other."
"Hello my name is Brenda Schmitz. When you receive this letter I will have already lost my battle with ovarian cancer."

In her illness, she had told her husband David she wanted him to move on after her death, and had asked that an unnamed friend make sure he get the letter once he had fallen in love again. When that time had come, KSTZ granted that wish, and read David Brenda's letter:
"I have a wish for David, the boys, and the woman and her family... I want them to know I love them very much and they always feel safe in a world of pain."
In the letter dated August 2011, she thanked David's fiance for becoming a mother to her four sons, and told her: "I love you - whoever you are."
David's fiance, Jayne, is herself a mother of two according to The Daily Mail.
Not only did Brenda request the station pamper Jayne — she also wished a night out "full of drinks, food and fun" for the cancer nurses and doctors in her unit. (Via The Des Moines Register)
KSTZ grants listeners' wishes as part of its annual Christmas Wish program. The station's brand manager told The Des Moines Register quote "There wasn't a dry eye in the room" when the station got Schmitz's letter.
