Adele made headlines when she released her latest single since 2011. "Hello" is the first track to be released on the singer's new album, 25, and the official video for the single garnered over 100 million views on Vevo in just five days.
Among the song's many fans, one woman's personal take on the lyrics struck gold in a phone conversation that went viral.
Mary Caldarella, a student at Auburn University, posted photos on Twitter after she texted Adele's lyrics to an ex boyfriend of hers.
"Hello from the other side," the song -- and Caldarella's text -- begins.
"Hey you," responds the ex-boyfriend, listed in Caldarella's phone as "Matt."
In a back and forth banter, Matt responds to each of Caldarella's texts, first with confusion -- "I think you have the wrong Matt" -- and later with thinking the woman wants to get back together.
Caldarella never breaks character. She only texts words from the song even despite Matt's "What do you mean?" and "What are you talking about?" texts.
Caldarella captioned the photos "When the ex falls for Adele lyrics" on Twitter. The post was favorited more than 20,000 times and retweeted over 14,000 times.
