A Springboro family will never forget this Christmas Eve. Melissa Moles went into labor Wednesday night after finishing Christmas shopping, but little Willow Freya couldn’t wait for the hospital.

She was born inside the family’s car.

“She said ‘she’s coming’ on the next contraction … and she did,” said dad Jesse. “Melissa caught her herself and pulled her out and patted her on the back and got her breathing. We called our midwife and said, ‘hey, we had the baby.’ “

The baby’s sisters, ages 8 and 9, were also in the car when mom gave birth in the car on Interstate 75. Mom and baby Willow are doing great tonight. Proud dad Jesse posted on Facebook that Willow was born at 2:31 a.m. Christmas Eve. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, measured 20 inches and was “perfectly healthy!!”

Melissa said she never expected this to happen, but didn’t panic or even think about calling 911.
