The FBI is investigating after a woman fell from a cruise ship off Cape Ann and died Friday.
The Coast Guard responded to a report of a woman falling overboard 10 miles off Cape Ann at about 7 p.m. Several crews responded to the ship, the Seabourn Quest, and searched the area.
At about 8:30 p.m. the Rockport Harbormaster recovered the woman.
"We are searched with multiple assets and with partner agencies by sea and air for the woman," said Petty Officer 3rd Class Stephen Leavitt, a watchstander at Sector Boston's command center.
The Seabourn Quest is a 650-foot cruise ship that left Boston Friday and was headed to Bar Harbor, Maine.
The FBI says they handle all death investigations that occur on the ocean. At this time the woman's identity has not been released.
