A Minnesota woman claims she found quite a nasty surprise in a box of pasta.
Penny Hagen told Fox 9 that she found a petrified frog in a box of Barilla tri-color penne pasta.
Hagen claims she used half the contents of the box and then put it back in the cupboard. When the box was later knocked off the shelf by her husband, the frog allegedly fell out with the remaining pasta.
Barilla conducted an investigation into Hagen’s claim and states that according to available information, “There were no foreign elements in the product while the product was under Barilla control.”
Hagen says Barilla offered to send her coupons, which she hasn’t received yet, but she thinks she deserves further compensation, telling Fox 9 that the company hasn’t “taken this as serious as they should have.”
An Eagan woman received some free meat in her box of Barilla pasta.
