It could happen to anyone. You set down something on a store counter, only to realize you left it behind.

This time it was a Glendale, Arizona, woman, who left a cash-filled envelope on a Walgreens counter. The $160 was to pay the 60-year-old woman's electric and phone bills, but she went back to the store after realizing what she had done, the money was gone, KSAZ reported.

She filed a police report and that’s when the unexpected happened.

Officer Bill Downey went around the department asking for donations to replace the missing money.

When all was said and done, he had collected $1,000 for the woman, who works two jobs to support herself.

Police told AZCentral that they collected the money so she could "take it easy this Christmas."

They gave it to the woman at the same store where her money was allegedly taken, AZCentral reported.

Police said they had surveillance video of the money being taken and have arrested a another woman in connection to the missing money.
