A Kansas woman is doing her part to help flood victims in Nebraska. Addy Tritt bought all of the shoes left at the Hays, Kansas, Payless store to send to those who were devastated by flooding.

All Payless stores across the country are going out of business. The store in Hays had dropped the shoes still left in stock to only $1. Tritt spoke to the store officials about buying all of the shoes that were left, but at even more of a discount, the Hutch Post reported.

In the end she ended up buying more than 200 pairs of shoes for $100, all to be shipped to Nebraska, along with other donations collected by Fort Hays State University's agriculture sorority Sigma Alpha, according to the newspaper.

Tritt is a FHSU graduate.

She sent 162 pairs of baby shoes, two pairs of men's shoes and 40 pairs of women's shoes for a total of 204 pairs of footwear, the Post reported.

If the shoes had not been bought at liquidation prices, they would have been more than $6,000, according the Post.
