According to the Baltimore Sun, police said Lacheisa Pailin-Sheffer, 37, poured a cup of liquid – likely water – over the head of Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who was greeting people at the Mondawmin Festival.
"I didn't know what it was that she threw at me," said Rawlings-Blake, who was not hurt in the incident. "I hope it was water. It was more shocking than anything else."
The festival was held at Mondawmin Mall, where protests broke out in April after Freddie Gray reportedly died from a spinal injury he received while in Baltimore police custody. Rawlings-Blake has faced criticism for the city's response.
