A Wisconsin elementary school performs in the state capitol and they're the ones who are billed for, as the local television station put it, "plugging in a boom box."
WAOW reported Webster Elementary School students put on a free concert in the Green Bay Capitol building rotunda earlier this year.
But they were taken aback when the school received a bill for $15, charging the school for plugging in a boom box to accompany the students during the concert.
Officially it was listed as using indoor electricity.
The state representative for Green Bay spoke with WAOW about the bill.
"A little shocked at the fact that our schools are charged fifteen dollars to plug in a boom box. I'm hopeful that there's an opportunity to review that and perhaps find a way to adjust it so that we can make concessions for our public schools," State Rep. David Steffen (R- Green Bay) told the station.
