Widow of fallen police officer celebrates his life in maternity shoot

Meghan M. Jacobs is a mother of two young boys and is expecting a baby girl who will not be able to meet her father.

Jacobs is the widow of a police officer who was fatally shot in the line of duty.

She used her maternity shoot to honor her late husband.

WPVI reported that Jessie Ellex of J.Ellex Photography took photos for the shoot.

"Officer Jacobs was a well decorated army veteran and devoted police officer to the Greenville community. Meghan M Jacobs is expecting a baby girl in July and I was given the honor to capture these photographs for her," Ellex wrote on her photog Facebook page.

Members of the Greenville Police Department, of which her husband was a part, also showed up for the shoot.

The result are striking images that pay tribute to Allen Jacobs and look toward Meghan Jacobs' future.

Ellex, who is a close friend of Jacobs and said she was "hit hard" by Allen Jacobs' death, said she and Meghan Jacobs plan to recreate the photos once her baby girl is born in July.
