WFTV obtained a police report in connection with a shooting incident on Monday involving George Zimmerman in Lake Mary, Florida.
Police said Zimmerman flagged down an officer to report that someone fired a gun at him while he was driving on Lake Mary Boulevard. At the same time Zimmerman flagged the officer, the man accused of firing the weapon, Matthew Apperson, called 911 to report the incident.
The Lake Mary Police Department obtained search warrants for both vehicles involved.
According to the police report, two handguns – a .40-caliber Glock and a .357 revolver – were recovered from Apperson's vehicle. An expended .357 shell was also found in the vehicle.
A Glock handgun was recovered from Zimmerman, authorities said, but his vehicle has not yet been searched.
There's no word on whether it's the same gun Zimmerman used to kill 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford in 2012. Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting in 2013.
In no 911 calls did anyone mention Zimmerman threatening Apperson or showing a gun, officials said.
Both Zimmerman and Apperson have hired lawyers, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing.

Police spokeswoman officer Bianca Gillett said no charges were filed immediately against Apperson.
"He simply maintained that he acted in self-defense," said Apperon's attorney, Mark NeJame. "We see everything to suggest that that is correct."
A bullet struck Zimmerman's driver's-side window and he was hit by glass and other debris, said his attorney, Don West.
"His injuries would be considered minor," West said. "The bullet missed his head. I think it broke a window and lodged in his vehicle."

Authorities said Zimmerman did not return fire.
"George absolutely denies having shown it, waved, displayed, pointed it," West said of Zimmerman's gun.
Witnesses are asked to contact Lake Mary Police Department.
WFTV received a text statement from Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., which read: "But for the assassin's poor aim, our brother would lie slain."

Last September, Apperson said Zimmerman threatened to kill him during a road confrontation. Apperson decided not to pursue charges, and police were unable to move forward without a license plate number or witnesses.
