A video of a Chicago-area woman freaking out while on a virtual reality roller coaster is making the rounds of social media.

The unnamed woman was in a hospital waiting room with her children, waiting tensely while her husband underwent surgery. Her daughter, Megan Kelley, explained the situation on YouTube, where she posted the video on Monday.

“After a month in the Intensive Care Unit, we finally got a call that our dad would be getting a double organ transplant,” Kelley wrote. “In the intense early morning hours prior to our dad being brought into surgery, we decided to help pass time and try to relax our mom. So we decided to put her on a rollercoaster ride.”

Early in the video, the mother seems to be in awe of the technology.

“Holy cow, this is awesome,” she tells her children as she looks around.

A few moments later, as the roller coaster begins to drop, she starts squirming in her seat and flailing her arms and legs.

“Oh my God…no!” she squeals, as her children laugh hysterically off-screen.

She calms down for a moment as the roller coaster makes its way back up the track for a second drop, which nearly sends her falling out of her chair as her body stiffens up.

By that point, the children are snorting with laughter.

After a couple of minutes, the woman has had enough and hands the virtual reality goggles back to her kids, looking dizzy and nauseated. She spends the rest of the video wiping sweat from her forehead and fanning herself.

As of Thursday morning, the video had been viewed nearly 100,000 times.

A GoFundMe page set up for the siblings' father, Roger Kelley Sr., reported on Monday that he would be getting a new liver and kidney. Prior to the transplants, he had been given between three and five months to live.

There was no update on his condition since the surgery. The fundraising page, titled "A Prayer for my Dad," has raised more than $31,000 to help Kelley pay for his medical expenses.
