A crowed gathered Sunday in Boston to remember a little girl, whose face intreagued a nation, but no one knew her name. That was until last week, when police finally identified "Baby Doe."

The group of strangers came together on the waterfront holding candles, remembering Baby Bella.

"She was beautiful, so innocent. She was playful," said 24-year-old Natalie Camejo, who organized the vigil.

Natalie first set eyes on Bella Bond when Bella was only a few months old. At the time, Natalie and her baby boy were living in a home for woman in transition in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. She said Bella and her mother, Rachelle Bond, lived just down the hall.

"I saw Bella every day if I wasn't in school I see her every day, every day," she said between tears.

Bella was formerly known as "Baby Doe" - the name State Police gave to the little girl when her body washed ashore Deer Island in June. A tip cracked the case open Friday and police arrested Rachelle Bond and her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy. McCarthy is facing a murder charge and Bond an accessory charge.

Camejo said she lost contact with Rachelle and Bella more than a year ago when she moved. The "Baby Doe" story caught her attention, as it did to many people along the east coast. She said she never made the connection to the composite photo.

"Everybody says the baby just looks just like her - no when you've seen her and you've held her and actually played with her, no you wouldn't have thought that," she explained.

A source told My Fox Boston Friday that Bella was allegedly kept in a refrigerator for a month after her death. The source also said McCarthy allegedly killed Bella by punching her in the stomach because he believed she was possessed by demons.

"This has touched everybody , everybody is thinking about this in some way," said Lori Pinkerton, who attended the vigil.

"I can't even put into words like how this even happened or why how could somebody do something like that," said Camejo.

Bond and McCarthy were arraigned Monday.

Bond is being held on $1 million bail.

McCarthy is being held wihout bail.
