The rule at Yellowstone National Park is to not get too close to wildlife.
Specifically visitors should stay at least 25 yards away from the moose, elk, bison and other animals they may encounter.
A Facebook video posted by Jody Tibbitts on shows why.
CNN reported that Tibbitts, a nature guide with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris, was leading a group on a tour of the park Sunday when he came across a woman who appeared to be taking photos of the elk with her phone.
Tibbitts can be heard on the video asking the woman to give the elk some space, but the elk had already begun charging at her.
Tibbitts said the woman wasn't actually hit by the elk, but she tripped and fell when she tried to step back as the animal came toward her.
"She fell down before the elk came close enough to hitting her, and when that happened the elk backed away," he said.
The woman can be heard saying, "It's been a long time since I've been here. It won't happen again."
"I'm sure it won't," Tibbitts said.
