A California couple visiting New York got a vacation they will never forget.
Elgin Ozlen shared a video of his experience at the Astor on the Park hotel in Manhattan, which he said included a room with no heat or working power outlets and a mattress consumed with bedbugs.
"This is no joke," Ozlen said in the video posted Friday to YouTube, in which is seen flipping over the mattress and showing bugs the size of fingernails in the crevices.
Ozlen's girlfirend had rashes all over her body because of the bugs, he said.
It was the third room in which the couple stayed at the hotel which is across the street from Central Park. The other rooms did not have heat and the power outlets did not work.
"I want to let everyone know it's my birthday, and this is what my experience has been," Ozlen said.
A hotel employee who said he was in charge but did not give his name to the New York Post, said he was instructed not to say anything about the guest's claims.
