Two bears were caught on video locked in an epic fight in a New Jersey residential neighborhood.

The adult black bears engage in a street fight in front of houses before rolling down a hill and continuing the fight in the street.

At one point in the 6-minute video, it appears the bears are ready to break up the fight before the clawing and biting resume. In one part of the video, a car is seen driving past the fighting bears who also slam into a mailbox.

The Morristown Daily Record attempted to verify the video purported to have taken place in Rockaway. The Daily Record was able to confirm some landmarks consistent with the Rockaway area, but a state Environmental Protection worker was not able to confirm where or when the fight took place.

"Normally animals fight, that's not surprising for any species of young adult animals such as deer," Department of Environmental Protection's Larry Ragonese told the Daily Record. "This stuff probably occurs in the woods on a regular basis. It happened here near a house but you don't know if it's three houses near a forest or not."

Ragonese said wildlife officials say the video appears to be of two young adult male bears fighting, but that it was not confirmed.

The video was originally uploaded to YouTube in mid-October and then a stabilized version of the video was re-uploaded earlier this week and has since gotten more than 500,000 views.
