Police and Fire Rescue crews in Port Orange, Florida, were able to save a dog that was found with its head trapped in a tree Friday.
Police said some good Samaritans were walking their own dog when they heard a whimper coming from a wooded area and found a dog with its head caught in the tree’s base.
Port Orange Fire Rescue used chain saws and winches to get the dog out safely.
The female pit bull mix is expected to be OK.
The dog had a collar on and police are working to find its owner.
The dog is being cared for at a nearby veterinary clinic.
