A dashcam video showed a state trooper saving a 2-year-old left in a car which was rolling down the highway.
According to WFTS, 30-year-old Dominic Roland Thompson was pulled over after Trooper Paul Rawland received a call that there was a car erratically driving. When Rawland pulled Thompson over, Thompson exited the car before it was fully stopped, and the car began to roll down the highway with cars coming towards it.
Rawland sprang into action and stopped the car, which was carrying a 2-year-old girl. No one was hurt in the incident.
Police say that pills were found in Thompson’s car and that he was unsteady on his feet, smelled of alcohol and was nodding off during the field-sobriety test. Thompson was in charge of the girl's welfare at the time of the incident.
Thompson was later charged with DUI, child neglect, and drug possession. He was released on $8,000 bond.
