A 49-year-old grandmother wearing a striped bikini was arrested for drunken driving after she allegedly slammed "into the rear of a car stopped at a traffic light" and failed several sobriety tests administered by police at the scene of the crash, according to the New York Daily News.
Patricia Ebel, of Naples, "declined to take a breath test and smelled strongly of alcohol, her arrest report said," states the New York Daily News story. Ebel was driving with her 10-year-old grandson in the car, with whom she had spent the day swimming at the pool. She and the child were not hurt. The driver of the Mustang, which was stopped at the red light when Ebel allegedly crashed into it, was taken to the hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries," according to the Huffington Post.
Ebel's black BMW "appeared to be totaled." She "has been charged with driving under the influence with a minor in the car," states the New York Daily News story. According to WINK News, Ebel's charges include "driving with a blood-alcohol content equal to or more than twice above the legal limit."
Ebel was released on bail.
