Truck driver's dog, son reunited after fatal road rage shooting

A truck driver who was killed in a road rage shooting in Florida last week left behind a dog, which was reunited with his son in New Jersey on Saturday.

George Guerrero was killed after he was shot while driving on Interstate 10 in Jacksonville on May 7.

Guerrero’s cousin, Blanca Clendenin, drove up from Daytona Beach to pick up his dog, Aria, from a Jacksonville shelter.

On Saturday, Clendenin drove to New Jersey, where George Guerrero's son, Christopher Guerrero, was finally able to cuddle Aria. The family told WJAX it was a reunion like no other.

Clendenin said Aria was sitting next to George Guerrero when he was shot and killed in his semi-truck.

“He was not alone. He was with his best friend. He was with his best friend and that’s what she is, his best friend,” Clendenin said.

Clendenin said her family is passing out fliers at truck stops in hopes of catching the man who allegedly shot and killed her cousin. Police believe the shooter was driving a semi with an orange cab carrying a white trailer.

As of Saturday, Crime Stoppers had received about 55 tips on this case.
