A deadly crash in South Carolina killed one driver.
A driver from Alabama said she was beginning to feel tired Sunday morning while driving on Interstate 85 when she lost control of her truck, hitting a guard wire before coming back on the highway, WHNS reported.
Officials said Gary Stephens tried to swerve to miss the truck, but he ended up hitting the truck before hitting a guardrail and finally stopping when he hit a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first truck was not hurt.
Stephens' 14-year-old dog was in the cab with him. The dog was not hurt, but family members asked that the dog be cremated and interred with Stephens, WHNS reported.
