Silly Rabbit, Trix is for... real rabbits!
At least it is now.
After what must have been a delightfully exhausting search, makers of the popular General Mills cereal brand announced their new mascot Thursday.
A rabbit named Cinnabun beat out nearly 7,600 other furry contestants to be named the #RealTrixRabbit.
The Houston-based rabbit's owner, Natalie Tran, called the situation "surreal" and surprising, but is also aware that she owns an "especially playful, cute and lovable bunny."
The move coincides with the company's plan to eliminate artificial flavors and colors from its cereals, a goal which 75 percent of its cereals have already met. Having a real rabbit mascot reinforces the idea of an authentically made cereal.
