Forbes has just released another interesting "best" list. This time, it outlines companies in America that offer the best or most interesting perks. Among the benefits at companies like Deloitte, Facebook, Ernst & Young and Netflix are a six-week sabbatical, mentoring programs, unlimited vacation days and $4,000 bonuses for new parents.
Here are the top 13 companies with the best perks:
13. IBM
Offers a reverse mentoring program where younger employees mentor executives. Plus, employees get free unlimited one-on-one counseling sessions with independent financial advisers.
12. Deloitte
Gives generous sabbaticals, four unpaid weeks a year to do anything or every 36 months, three to six months at 40 percent pay to volunteer or do career development.
11. Netflix
Does not keep track of vacation days for employees, who can take as much time off as they want. Gives every employee Netflix stock options worth 5 percent of their monthly salary.
10. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment
Sends some employees to wildlife conservation and animal rescue projects around the world.
9. Ernst & Young
Same-sex partners get the same benefits as opposite-sex married couples even in states that don’t recognize gay marriage. Also, any employee who works at least 20 hours a week is eligible for full-time benefits.
8. Johnson & Johnson
Provides flex time, free on-site gyms and pet insurance coverage. The company also offers mindfulness programming. Reminders from an app encourage people to pause and breathe or step away from their desks.
7. Starbucks
Work just 20 hours a week and get benefits, including bonus and 4 percent 401(k) match. In 2014 the company announced it would subsidizes bachelor’s degrees for workers through the Arizona State’s online program.
6. Qualcomm
Any group of four employees or more can start a hobby club and request funding for its projects. Qualcomm has more than 200 clubs worldwide. Members of one club construct their own robots from scratch.
5. Under Armour
Has a 55-yard replica of the University of Maryland’s football field on its Tide Point campus in Baltimore.
4. Seattle Children’s Hospital
Offers weekly support groups for residents, support groups for residents’ spouses, day care and free couples’ counseling.
3. Mutual of Omaha
Offers onsite fast food, including Papa John’s, Chick-fil-a and Starbucks, as well as $12 chair massages and physical therapy.
2. Facebook
Covers egg freezing for women and gives new parents four months paid leave plus $4,000 “baby cash.”
1. Costco
Stores remain closed on Thanksgiving, unlike competitors like Walmart. The most common starting wage is $11.50 and of the 90 percent of employees eligible for insurance, 98 percent enroll.
