Toddler wakes up, smiles days after doctors recommend taking her off life support
The parents of a 1-year-old girl in France say they are hopeful that their daughter will recover after a virus attacked her nervous system.
The girl, identified only as Marwa, of Marseilles, France, was taken to the hospital in September as she battled an aggressive virus.

According to The Sun, doctors put her into a coma, but after months the girl receiving breathing assistance, they decided that there was nothing more they could do. They reportedly suggested taking her off life support.
The family launched a social media campaign to continue treatment. Ten days later, the family said Marwa shocked doctors by awakening on her own and smiling.
Her father posted a video of his daughter’s smile to social media.
Marwa has a twin sister. Her parents remain hopeful that she will recover.
