What to know now:

1. Cruz out, Trump in: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz announced Tuesday he would suspend his bid for the Republican nomination for president after a crushing loss in the Indiana primary. With Cruz  gone, the path has been cleared for New York businessman Donald Trump to be the presumptive nominee of the Republican party in the 2016 election. "It appears that path has been foreclosed," Cruz told supporters in Indianapolis. "Together, we left it all on the field of Indiana. We gave it everything we've got, but the voters chose another path, and so with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign." Trump, in his victory speech, praised Cruz as a competitor and said his decision to leave the race was a "brave" one.

2. Navy SEAL killed: A U.S. Navy SEAL was killed Tuesday by Islamic State forces in Iraq. Charles Keating IV, grandson of the late Arizona financier who became infamous for  his part in the savings and loan scandal in the late 1980s, was killed in an  attack near the city of Irbil.

3. 11-year-old killed: An arrest has been made in the abduction and death of an 11-year-old Navajo girl in northwestern New Mexico, according to the FBI. Tom Begaye of Waterflow, N.M., was arrested Tuesday evening in the death of Ashlynne Mike. Begaye allegedly lured the girl and her brother into his  van at a school bus stop. He drove the children into the  hills on the Navajo reservation where the FBI said he killed  the girl. Begaye is scheduled to appear before a U.S. Magistrate on Wednesday.

4. ADHD recommendation: A report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says too many preschool children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are being put on drugs instead of first receiving behavior therapy. A look at insurance claims for 5 million children in the United States between ages 2 and 5 showed that only about half of thechildren received psychological services for ADHD, while 75 percent of the kids received medication. Behavior therapy is now recommended as a first course of treatment for a child with ADHD.

5. More cars to be recalled: The recall for Takata air bags has grown yet again. U.S. regulators are telling the manufacturer  it must add millions of air bag inflators to what already is the largest auto recall in American history. The bags, in some instances, have exploded with such force they have sent shrapnel flying inside the car. More than 24 million U.S. vehicles  have already been recalled. At least 11 people have been killed in incidents linked to the inflators.

And one more

The entire Canadian city of Fort McMurray has been evacuated as a wildfire burns out of contol near the town. Around 44,000 people had left the city in the Canadian province of Alberta as firefighters called for more help to fight the blaze. "Right now, we have fire burning within the city," Chief Darby Allen of Fort McMurray's fire department told reporters. "It is impacting communities as we speak. Homes are on fire as we speak."

In case you missed it

Why is it that things seem so much more interesting when the person describing them has an English accent? (Don't laugh, 44,000 people agree with me).
