1. Las Vegas rampage: One person is dead and more than 30 injured after a woman intentionally drove her car up and down a Las Vegas sidewalk Sunday. The woman, said to be in her 20s, "went up and off these streets, two or possibly three times," police say. The woman had a child in the car with her. Neither she nor the child was injured.
2. Wrong name called: Miss. Colombia already had the crown on Sunday night when the host of the Miss Universe show, comedian Steve Harvey, came back onstage to announce he had read the wrong name from a cue card and that, in fact, Miss Philippines had actually won the competition. The crown was taken off the head of Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo and given to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Harvey apologized via Twitter, also, but had a couple of typos in the tweet and was instantly bashed for the mistake.
3. Carter's grandson: Former President Jimmy Carter announced Sunday morning at his church that his 28-year-old grandson, Jeremy, had died a few hours before. Carter, who was late to the Sunday school class he teaches, had only recently announce he was cancer-free after doctors last summer discovered cancer in his liver and brain. He told the congregation his grandson had felt unwell and went to rest. His mother found his heart had stopped when she went to check on him, Carter said.
4. FIFA ban: World soccer has banned its president and that man's successor from the sport for eight years. Sepp Blatter and Michael Platini. The man were banned by FIFA after an investigation of a $2 million payment Blatter approved for Platini without telling his executive committee colleagues.
5. "Star Wars" record: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" became the largest grossing movie debut in history as it brought in $238 million in ticket sales over the weekend. The seventh movie in the series franchise topped by $30 million former record holder "Jurassic World" in debut weekend ticket sales.
