What to know now:

1. Amtrak derailment: An Amtrak train derailed near Dodge City, Kansas, shortly after midnight local time, sending nearly two dozen people  to the hospital. Amtrak said the train was headed to Chicago from Los Angeles when it derailed  sending  five cars off the  tracks. The train had two locomotives and nine cars and was carrying 128 passengers and 14 crew members.

2. Trump as messenger: GOP front-runner Donald Trump said Sunday that he's "just the messenger" and is not responsible for fueling the violence that  broke out at his campaign stops this past weekend. Trump appeared on several Sunday news shows saying he is merely giving voice to what Americans feel, complaining, "We have protesters so mean. They are so bad. Our people started swinging back, and the next day we are the bad guys."

3. Reporter resigns: The reporter who said Donald Trump's campaign manager assaulted her at one of his rallies last week has resigned from her job. Michelle Fields says she is leaving Breitbart News because  of the news organizations response to the incident. She said Breitbart did not support her in her claims that Corey Lewandowski grabbed her arm and nearly pulled her down at a Trump rally after she asked a question.  Ben Shapiro an editor for Breitbart, also resigned saying he felt Fields had not received proper support from the company.

4. Leaked bracket: The bracket for the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament was announced Sunday, but some people got an early look at it when it was leaked on Twitter. The tweet included a photo of what appeared to be the completed bracket with a headline that read "Spoiler alert: full bracket." The person who leaked the bracket leaked the correct one, letting teams who did and who did  not make the cut find out hours before the official announcement.

5. Richard's ok: Fitness guru Richard Simmons is denying rumors that he is being held against his will at his California home. Simmons has not been seen in public in some time, but told "Entertainment Tonight" in a phone interview that he is fine and was "not kidnapped," nor is being held in his home against his will.

And one more

Two people are in custody after a Maryland police officer was killed Sunday afternoon in what's being called an "unprovoked attack." Officer Jacai Colson, 28, was shot and killed in Landover – not far from Washington D.C.  The man who shot Colson was shot by police but is expected to survive.
