A Texas man has been charged with murder after authorities say he killed his girlfriend and posted a photo of her body on Facebook.

According to KDFW, Kenneth Alan Amyx, 45, was arrested and found with stab wounds after allegedly slaying his girlfriend, Jennifer Streit-Spears, outside a Plano apartment on Sunday. Police told KDFW that they received a call about a disturbance that morning.

The sister, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Dot that a photo of Streit-Spears' body next to the suspect was posted on Streit-Spears' Facebook page with the caption, "Please pray for us."

“I did ask them to remove it several times,” her sister told the Daily Dot. “They told me I could block Jennifer if I didn’t like what she posted and gave me similar options.”

According to the New York Daily News, the photos have been removed from Streit-Spears' Facebook page, which is now a "Remembering Jennifer Streit-Spears" page.

Once someone from Facebook realized the photos were posted by Amyx, the photos were taken down.

According to KDFW, Amyx was treated for his wounds – which were found to be self-inflicted – before going to jail.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Amyx said he and his girlfriend had agreed to a suicide pact but she "chickened out" so "he had to finish her off," said an affidavit released Tuesday.

Police also said Amyx was wanted for sexual offenses regarding children in Rockwall and Dallas counties.

Amyx is being held in the Collin County jail on $600,000 bond.
