A manager at a Texas drive-in movie theater fatally shot a man deputies said struck her with a baseball bat during an armed robbery attempt early Monday, authorities said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, two managers were leaving the Showboat Drive-In in Hockley at 2:30 a.m. when one of them noticed someone inside the business office, KHOU reported. When the woman went to investigate, she was confronted by two men, the television station reported.

One of the men began striking the woman with a baseball bat and the woman pulled out a gun and shot him, KTRK reported. The other man fled the office, the television station reported.

"At least one of them had a bat and hit her a couple times," a Sheriff's Office spokesman told KPRC. "That's when she pulled her gun out (and opened fire)."

Deputies are still searching for the second man, KTRK reported.
