A sports radio commentator in west Tennessee is accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl.

Kerry Lewis Mallard, 53, of Wildersville, was arrested Thursday and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a minor, according to the Jackson Sun. He was released after posting $75,000 bail.

Mallard was the advertising and sports director for WBFG-FM, a West Tennessee sports station operated by Lexington Broadcasting, the newspaper reported. Mallard also broadcasted Lexington High School sports games on WZLT-FM, another station owned by Lexington Broadcasting.

According to investigators with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Mallard told the child to touch his genitals on multiple occasions when she was 4 and 5 years old, according to court documents. The alleged sexual assault occurred between April 2018 and August 2019, the Sun reported.

According to authorities, Mallard told the child not to tell anyone about the incidents, the newspaper reported. According to court documents, Mallard told authorities he allowed the girl to touch him once, in August 2019.

Lexington Broadcasting owner Don Enochs said Mallard has been relieved of his duties at the radio station, the Sun reported.

Mallard will be arraigned Monday in Henderson County General Sessions Court, the newspaper reported.
