Teen with autism receives more than 10,000 birthday cards, gifts after photo goes viral
Rebecca Lyn shared the photo of her cousin, Hallee, who celebrated her 18th birthday alone in Bangor, Maine. Hallee sent invitations to her classmates, but no one showed up to her party at a bowling alley.

“Hallee is funny, sweet, caring, smart, an athlete, a jigsaw puzzle champion, a wonderful student, and a best friend to all,” Rebecca wrote on Facebook about her cousin.
This year, just before Hallee’s 19th birthday, Rebecca was determined to give her a celebration she would cherish forever.

In a Facebook post for people to send Hallee birthday cards.
“I would love to flood her mailbox with birthday cards, from all over! Hal loves getting mail – this would be the best birthday gift she could ask for,” wrote Rebbeca.
According to the Hallee's 19th Birthday Facebook page, more than 10,000 cards have poured in from around the world.

Hallee has gotten so much mail that it had to be bundled in crates and delivered to her door.
She has also gotten dozens of gifts, including a NASA Barbie from a Kennedy Space Center employee.
