A police affidavit obtained by an entertainment news outlet has reportedly revealed new details in Amber Portwood's arrest for alleged domestic violence.
Portwood was arrested July 5 at her home with her live-in boyfriend and the father of her child, Andrew Glennon. She allegedly attacked Glennon as he held their 1-year-old son, James.
E! News reported that, according to prosecutors' claims in court documents obtained by the outlet, the 29-year-old "Teen Mom OG" star stuck a machete into a door that Glennon was standing on the other side of.
Prosecutors also claim Portwood knowingly touched Glennon in a "rude, insolent or angry manner" in front of their son, "knowing the child was present and might be able to see or hear the offense," according to E! News. The child was not harmed.
TMZ reported that Portwood was arrested on felony charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery.
Us Weekly reported that Portwood appeared in court Wednesday with her mother. Her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, and his wife, Kristina, were also at the courthouse.
According to TMZ, Glennon was interviewed by the Department of Child Services. According to legal documents, Glennon thinks Portwood is "currently unable to provide a safe, stable, and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns."
Custody documents say that Glennon "believes it is in James' best interests that he be awarded sole legal and primary physical custody," according to E! News.
A judge served Portwood with a no-contact order in court, E! News reported. She is due back in court at the end of the month.
