A teen was bitten by a shark while surfing in New Smyrna Beach Sunday, authorities said.
Volusia County Beach Safety officials said the 14-year-old was bit just before 5 p.m. Sunday near the New Smyrna Beach Jetty.
The teenager suffered minor lacerations on his left leg.
He was treated at the scene and refused further care.
The incident brings the total number of shark bites in the area this year to 10.
