Actress and activist Susan Sarandon took time to sit with Florida delegates on the first night of the Democratic National Convention.

Sarandon, who early in the campaign season endorsed Bernie Sanders, sat among Sanders delegates as they listened to the convention speakers. She also posed for photos with several delegates.

Bradley VanWaus of Tampa, a Sanders delegate next to whom Sarandon was sitting, said he talked with her about “continuing the political revolution.”

Delegate Kira Willig of Miami and Walton County Democratic Party member Samantha Herring were able to have their photo taken with Sarandon.

“She’s an avid opponent of the death penalty,” Willig said. “She is an activist who used her celebrity and her voice to support Bernie.”

Herring also noted Sarandon’s environmental activism.

“She’s fought fracking, and we tried to get a ban on the platform this year,” Herring said.
