A security officer found a student in a school bathroom Thursday morning after he apparently spent the night locked in the school, according to a report.
The middle school student was found just before 8 a.m. in a restroom at Foy H. Moody High School in Corpus Christi, KRIS-TV reported.
Police with the Corpus Christi Independent School District told the news network that the boy was hiding in the bathroom, when he became locked inside overnight. It was not clear why he was hiding.
Police did not release additional information on the case, citing federal regulations protecting schools and school children.
The boy was not injured.
This story was corrected at 3 p.m. ET on April 21. This report originally named the school district as the Clear Creek Independent School District, not the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
