Elon Musk’s SpaceX will attempt to launch a U.S. military navigation satellite Saturday morning, after the scheduled launch earlier this week was scrubbed.
The Falcon 9 rocket carrying a GPS satellite is due to launch from Florida’s Cape Canaveral around 9 a.m.
A successful launch would mark SpaceX's first national security space mission for the United States, Reuters reported.
The launch attempt follows the formal announcement this week of the Space Force, a new branch of the military created by order of President Donald Trump. Vice President Mike Pence visited Florida's Space Coast Tuesday, WFTV reported.
